It is the continuation of this post. Yesterday i told u about a visitation of 11 countries to my office. And now, i will tell the agenda after that. The schedule after visitation is an International Workshop on Strengthening Educational Quality in Southeast Asia Through Networking and Partnership. Its held in Inna Garuda Hotel, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I get a chance to attent to this workshop. Just be a participant, not a delegation from my country or my office.
In that workshop, every country present their country report about education especially in language, science, and mathematics. I record the country report from brunei darussalam, kambodia, malaysia, indonesia, Lao, Philiphina, and thailand. Today the presention are from Singapore, Timor Leste, Vietnam, and Myanmar. But today i dont go to that meeting, so i can’t share what happen today.
I record some report that are interesting. From cambodia, they have a policy to increase the number of scholarship for youth from poor family especially girls. Wow, they very concern in education for poor family and also for girls. As a woman, i very like it… Then from malaysia, they combine english language in learning mathematics ang science. In prymary school, students learn math n science using english. Its good, i think. And then i record the report from Lao. In Lao, the presentage of girls students in comparation with the number of girls in school age is low . So the audience said: they need to have some handshome teacher so the girls interest to go to school
. The other, from Thailand i note that the goverment there have a policy on ICT. They provide low cost laptop to student. Hmm…will indonesia do it too?
Ya…maybe i can’t share more because u know, they present their report in english, in their dialect, and i just can understand what they present from the slides.
May it usefull for our education in southeast asia. I wish…
